Collaborated with a department to design an 8th grade World Geography course with a strong focus on investigating world issues and critically examining potential solutions to problems
Collaborated with a colleague to design a 7th grade World History course with a strong focus on inquiry of historical events and applying historical themes to modern problems
Independently developed and taught a U.S History that served as an elective course for 11th and 12th grade students
As this course had students from a variety of nationalities and life experiences, I designed this course to focus on how historical events and themes in the USA had an impact on the world
Incorporated resources that critically examined American history from a variety of perspectives, such as the Howard Zinn Project
Students developed skills such as historiography, identifying bias, analyzing sources, supporting opinions with evidence
